Pump-Action at Ottawa 2000

(Three go to Ottawa- 11MB)

Ottawa 2000 was an entertaining week.

I teamed up with Floyd Bishop and Keith McMenamy for the journey from New York to Canada. Thanks Floyd for driving the 1000 mile round trip. Pump-Action had been selected for the Panorama but Floyd and Keith's film 3D ABC's was in the main competion which earned them complimentary accomadation - I invited myself to stay :-)

It was my first trip to Ottawa and I would recommend it to anyone interested in seeing a diverse range of animation. I found it especially good for pulling me out of the technique heavy CG3D world's view of animation into the world of true story telling. There were some hilarious shorts and some painfully long torture sessions.

We also had good fun experimenting with stop motion animation using Animation Toolworks - Lunchbox frame recorder system which was excellent and so easy to use. I especially liked the video onion skinning it could do.

This MPG movie should give you a taste of the show.
